We also have a public park available with children's play equipment and a play house, as well as BBQ and toilet facilities.
In the two years the community battled to save the Sanctuary
much of the rainforest and bushland fell into disrepair succumbing
to a variety of weeds including lantana, madeira vine and cats
claw creeper.
In a combined effort Kumbartcho Sanctuary Volunteers, the Pine
Rivers Catchment Association and other local community groups
and local residents have started bushland regeneration on a
large scale around the Sanctuary and along the South Pine River.
The areas they work on look great and we thank them for their
dedication.
If you would like to become part of the commitment to return this area back to its original state, go to our events page to see what date the next activity is being held.
