Koala Action Pine Rivers
A volunteer not for profit group made up of local residents concerned about the plight of the koala. We are committed to supporting the koala population in Pine Rivers Shire by conducting free koala education and awareness presentations in schools, for community groups and those interested in learning more about this “regionally vulnerable” species.
Pine Rivers Catchment Association
A community-based group formed to promote the ecologically sustainable development of the Pine Rivers area in Queensland, Australia. Members come from throughout the community, industry, agriculture and local and state government. From this the broad group, the PRCA's Management Committee is elected, to oversee the activities of the Association.
Queensland Frog Society
The society's main aims are to encourage and foster an interest in frogs, to provide expert assistance and education for newcomers and undertake a continuous survey of the local native species to determine their relative abundance and distribution.
Healthy Waterways
A program of the South East Queensland Healthy Waterways Partnership which created the vision of healthy waterways for the future. We are working with government, community, industry, researchers and traditional owners throughout South East Queensland to improve the health, wealth and beauty of our waterways and catchments.

Waterwatch is a national community water quality monitoring network that encourages all Australians to become active in the protection of their waterways.
Environmental Protection Agency
A department of the Queensland Government. The EPA strives to protect Queensland’s natural and cultural heritage, promote sustainable use of its natural capital and ensure a clean environment.
Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland
The Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland (Wildlife Queensland) is committed to an ecologically sustainable future for people and wildlife. Through wildlife programs and working with decision-makers, we aim to preserve Queensland’s flora and fauna by educating the community and encouraging rational land use, proper planning of existing and future development, and the sustainable management and use of the natural environment.
Opsrey House Environmental Centre
Owned by the Pine Rivers Shire Council and operated by trained and enthusiastic volunteers. It is located on a picturesque site on the Pine River on Dohles Rocks Road, Griffin.
Landcare Australia
A uniquely Australian partnership between the community, government and business to 'do something practical' about protecting and repairing our environment. More than 4,000 volunteer community landcare groups - including bushcare and urban landcare, rivercare, coastcare and sustainable agriculture groups - are tackling land degradation in every corner of Australia.
Australian Wildlife Hospital
The Australian Wildlife Hospital and Rescue Unit collects sick, injured and orphaned koalas and other native wildlife, and provides care and rehabilitation in a state-of-the-art facility before releasing them back into the wild.
Volunteering Australia
The national peak body working to advance volunteering in the Australian community. Its role is to represent the diverse views and needs of the volunteer sector while promoting the activity of volunteering as one of enduring social, cultural and economic value.
Society for Growing Australian Plants
Formed in 1957 for the purpose of studying and developing the horticultural potential of Australian native plants and preserving them through cultivation. With over 8,000 members throughout Australia, it is one of the largest horticultural societies in the country. The Society has made a significant contribution to the knowledge of the Australian flora, its cultivation and introduction into nurseries and home gardens.
Geographe Community Landcare Nursery
Local provenance indigenous native plants for landcare, revegetation, ecological or environmental restoration and biodiversity projects in Western Australia.
