"New Year’s Resolution that’s easy to keep"

Have you already broken all your New Year's resolutions? Then here's a suggestion of one that's easy to keep. January and February is a great time to start something new, make more friends and learn heaps, by becoming a volunteer at Osprey House and Kumbartcho Sanctuary, which are Pine Rivers Shire Council's community environmental centres.

Osprey House is nestled on the banks of the Pine River at Griffin, and offers a host of activities for the community focussing on the wetland plants and animals. Volunteers interact with school and community groups, members of the public and learn about the many wildlife species that live on our doorstep.

Kumbartcho Sanctuary at Eatons Hill offers a different experience where volunteers grow local native plants from seed collected throughout Pine Rivers. Over 150 different plants are grown over a year and all knowledge you gain can be "transplanted" to your garden at home.

So if delicious morning teas, lots of fun and great new friends sounds like the new years resolution for you then call Kim the volunteer co-ordinator on 0417 627039. You can also jump online and see more at www.ospreyhouse.asn.au or www.kumbartcho.org.au
