Workshop 1 - February 16th Creating a Wildlife Friendly Garden Using Native Plants “Turn your backyard WILD by joining Ric the Wildman Nattrass who will take participants through a DIY on how to do it.”
Workshop 2 – March 15th Creating a Fauna Friendly Garden Using Nest boxes “Start making homes for wildlife at your place” Different types of nest boxes attract different wildlife so join Gavin Magarry – Nursery Manger and Qualified Carpenter as he explains how to create them.
Workshop 3 – April 19th Creating a Koala, Possum and Glider Friendly Garden Using Native Plants “Look out your window and see possums and gliders at play and sleepy koalas in your gum trees” Scott Burnett from Wildlife Queensland will guide you on the best way to create the type of ecology that will attract these furry friends to your backyard.
Workshop 4 – May 17th Creating a Rainforest Garden Using Native Plants “A canopy of trees who’s branches reach like arms up to the sky and a forest floor which is cool and inviting” Join Gavin Magarry – Nursery Manager of Pine Rivers Community Nursery and create this Eden at your place. An asset to both your property and local fauna species.
Workshop 5 – June 21st Creating a Fauna Friendly Dam/Creek Using Native Plants “Irkey! Perky! The waters murky!” Is your dam or creek an eyesore not an asset? Join Tim Odgers Co-ordinator of Pine Rivers Catchment Association and learn how to create an aquatic wonderland right where you live.
Workshop 6 – July 19th Creating a Fauna (and people) Friendly Bush Tucker Garden “Native Mulberry pie, Lillypilly jam or Finger Lime Marmalade –sounds so good my tummy is rumbling!”. Let John Bowden tempt your tastebuds with the delights of bush tucker plants that are delicious to you and our local wildlife.
Workshop 7 – August 16th Creating a Frog Friendly Garden Using Native Plants “Swing in a hammock on your veranda and be serenaded to sleep by a chorus of joyous frog voices”. Jenny Holdway from the Frog Society of Queensland will teach you how to create a little froggy heaven where you live.
Workshop 8 – September 13th Creating a Butterfly and Insect Friendly Garden Using Native Plants “Enjoy butterfly kisses and caterpillar tickles”. Embrace the secret life of butterflies and insects and delight in the delicate nature of these special creatures at your place.

Workshop 10 – November 15th Creating a ‘Native Bee’ Friendly Garden Using Native Plants. “These little guys are the real Doo-Bees” Dr Tim Heard from CSIRO will teach you which native plants are ‘Native Bee Friendly’ and what you have to do to have native bees (and their honey) thrive at your place.
Workshop 11 – December 6th Professional tips and techniques used in the design, establishment and maintenance of your garden “Mark Thomson of Plan to Plant Garden design Service, will illustrate creative and aesthetic garden designs using contemporary themes and the use of native or indigenous plant selections.”
